Getting Started
Giving a Contractor Access to the Mobile App
Last updated
A contractor needs three things before the Sitefotos mobile app is useful to them: a contact with a login, at least one site assigned to them, and forms shared with them. This article covers all three, in order.
1. Create the Contractor and their Login
In the backoffice, open CRM and go to Contractors.
Add the contractor with their first name, last name, and email address.
The email is crucial: it is what they will sign in with.
Make sure the contact has a contractor access code assigned. This code becomes the Company ID the contractor signs in with, and the welcome email cannot be sent without it.
2. Send the Welcome Email
Send the contractor their welcome email from Sitefotos. They receive a message titled Sitefotos: Login and Get the App! with links to download the app and the Company ID they sign in with. Sitefotos sends at most one welcome email per contact per hour, so if you just sent one, a repeat request inside that hour does nothing.
If the contractor’s email address already belongs to a Sitefotos account, that existing account is linked instead of a new one being created. The contractor keeps signing in the way they already do.
3. Give them Something to See
Assign them to sites. A contractor only sees sites their company is assigned to. Open Sites and add the contractor to each site they service.
You can also bulk assign sites in our Sites and Contractor pages.
Share forms with them. A form appears in their app only when it is shared with contractors or with their specific contact, and only on sites the form itself is attached to. Check sharing in Form Builder.
When they Still Cannot See Work
Refer to the article Sites and forms not showing in the mobile app. A quick summary: confirm the sign-in email, then check site assignment, routes, form sharing, and whether the form is active.
